I was the kid picked last in gym class. The kid that never played sports. The teen that had a few extra pounds and was not active. I came to exercise/working out in my 20s and 30s, but running was a no go since I did not really want to. Fast forward to my late 40s-47 to be exact-when I met my inspiration (now Husband) to put on a pair of running shoes, Shawn. He has a great story too, but he got me to go on a few short runs and then buy a pair of proper running shoes.
Then I signed up for my first 7k (4.35 miles) that I trained for-today that is a daily run for me. After finishing that race, I was so happy and excited, I said "when is the next one?" I was instantly hooked on the joy of running and the runner's high of the finish line.
During covid, I met a number of new running friends and they inspired me to push even harder and give a Marathon a go. 26.2 miles seemed daunting, but through smart training I had a very successful race and even though I said "one and done", 2 short days later I was ready to take on another 26.2. Both of these were at Twin Cities Marathon. Since then I have done 5 more Marathons, including 2 World Majors-Berlin and Chicago-and paced the Lost Dutchman Marathon here in Arizona.
Being a Fitness Pro during this time, I was already starting to Coach my first runners to help them successfully cross finish lines. I earned my Coaching License through UESCA in 2019 and have Coached over 100 runners to all distances including a 100 mile Ultramarathon at Badger Trail in Wisconsin.
I am currently chasing the 6 Star Medal for all the World Major Marathons-Tokyo, London, Boston and New York remain-New York Marathon will be earned in 2027.
I want to be your Cheerleader and help you with all the things racing. I will help you prepare for that first big start line and beyond. I cannot wait to cheer you on for your next big race. I Coach runners in Phoenix and around the world.
